THE FLASH "SEEING RED" REVIEW

Season 5 Episode 11:

We are back with another episode of the Flash, directed by Marcus Stokes, where we see Cicada start to go all in on the meta-humans in Central City, which means that team Flash has to save a dozen meta-humans from being slaughtered. Spoilers ahead for the episode, let's recap.

Cicada is given a list of meta-humans who have been in p[olice custody by a police officer, so he goes after three and kills them. Learning of this list, Barry, Killer Frost, XS, and Ralph go to stop Cicada, where Cicada punches Nora, leaving her nerve system breaking down, leaving her somewhat paralyzed, and Iris comforting her, while Sherlqoue investigates her and her journal.

Out of rage, Barry, Killer Frost, and Ralph find Norvok who helps them track down the other meta-humans, where they are all taken to a warehouse waiting for an Argus pickup helicopter. Cicada arrives and destroys the landing gear on the helicopter. Barry and Killer Frost (with an ice dagger) fight Cicada, as the others run away. Ralph and Norvock help the meta-humans onto the helicopter, getting everyone to safety. Barry is going in on Cicada, nearly about to kill him, as Nora shows up with the ability to walk again. Barry goes over to his daughter as Cicada leaves.

Cecile catches the police officcer who sent Cicada the meta-human list, meanwhile, nack at STAR Labs, Caitlin managed to get blood from Cicada, which she needed for the meta cure, and Barry realizes the way to stop Cicada is to bring his niece out of her coma.

To start off, this one of my favorite episodes of the season. From the way that it was filmed with its cinematography, the coloring, the lighting, it all looked visually appealing and create for a smooth watch on the eyes. The story of the episode flowed better than most episodes. With the explanation of Cisco's absence being explained with him at the base, and Joe on holiday with his daughter and Wally. The story also gave everyone a plot. Well, Iris was pushed back a little bit, but that was fine because there were other interesting plots going on.

I did kind of like the Killer Frost and Caitlin relationship explored in the episode. I did feel like it did get a little repetitive in the beginning, but I am glad that the two came to an agreement at the end, and decided to go ahead with the meta-cure, as long as Caitlin does not take it.

The character of Norvock was also explored a decent amount in the episode, which was great. By protagonising, the character we got to see more the negative effects that people have with getting meta-humans. I did like the explanation that Norvock was carrying a snake while he got struck by the dark matter. I also did like how Ralph was involved in this story by inspiring Norvock to be a hero. It was also a great way to show how Ralph has grown as a hero.

The cast of the episode was great, and I did like how many characters they did incorporate into the episode. Starring in the episode we had Grant Gustin (Barry Allen/ the Flash), Danielle Panabaker (Caitlin Snow/ Killer Frost), Hartley Sawyer (Ralph Dibny/ Elongated Man), Mark Sweatman (Norvock), Jessica Parker Kennedy (Nora West-Allen/ XS), Candice Patton (Iris West), Tom Cavanagh (Sherloque Wells), Danielle Nicolet (Cecile Horton), Britne Oldford (Peek-a-boo), Patrick Sabongui (Captain Singh), Lossen Chambers (Dr. Ambres), and Chris Kelin (Orlin Dwyer/ Cicada).

Overall, this episode of the Flash was a well directed episode, which contributed to the overall story rch of the season, while also brining an exciting individual story to the screen. With solid acting, special effeccts, and writting, this episode is my favorite of the season. I will give this episode a 9 out of 10.
