FROZEN 2 TEASER TRAILER BREAKDOWN

Image
Well six years later, the highest grossing animated film is back for a sequel which I am sure is going to be great, well that's at least what we see from the new teaser trailer of the film. There are also a few secrets in this trailer and the possible hinting at a theory which has been speculated to death on the internet over the past half dozen years. So let's get into all of that and more in this breakdown of the Frozen 2 trailer. So this first scene of the trailer seems somewhat mundane in a way where we see Ice Queen Elsa () using her powers on this ocean. First of all, I do have to say that the animation here looks incredible, it looks for vivid, more fluid, it all looks great. The water alone is an animation spectacle, especially with how the stormy effect is incorporated into it as well. In this scene, it seems like Elsa's is practicing with her powers, which seem like they have expanded a whole lot since the first film. But why near the ocean? Well, the o...

THE GENIE DISCUSSION- "THE ALADDIN"

Image
So we got our first official look at Will Smith as the Genie in the upcoming Aladdin live-action remake, and well, there are many things to say about the design of the character its natural film, so I went to go through both some compliments and critiques (mostly critiques) of the famous blue lantern entity in his live-action debut. To start off, I just want to say, I am not going to compare the performances of Will Smith to the late Robin Williams. William's depiction of the character in animated form was amazing, and Smith could make a just as good performance as Williams, or take a different take on the character which might be just as entertaining. The biggest complaint of the Genie in live action is that it just looks like a painted blue Will Smith or not even that, someone just placed a blue filter on Will Smith in photoshop to bring the charcter to life. This is a complaint I have, and a complaint I have about these Disney live-action adaptations in general...

TOY STORY 4 'BIG GAME' SPOT BREAKDOWN

Image
Hey everyone, we are here with yet another Superbowl trailer, and this time it was for Toy Story 4, where we see two scenes which seem pivotal to the film, so let's take a look at them. First of all, we see Bo-Peep (Annie Potts) back, who was confirmed a while ago to be returning in this film. I believe there were early drafts of Toy Story 3 which had the character, but she was ultimately removed, so it is nice seeing her return. In this film, the character has been off on her own, most likely sold off like all of Andy's other toys. In this film, we see that the character has taken on more of an action-centric role with the clothing to fit it. The cane that she uses has also been broken and is held together using tape, which shows that she may have been in some rough situations earlier. I am excited to see where the character goes in this film and her reunion with Woody (Tom Hanks) and the other toys. It would also be interesting if we see a twist on the characte...

ALADDIN ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY COVER BREAKDOWN

Image
The characters from the 1992 Aladdin animated film are iconic in their design and costumes, and here we are with the first character reveals of the Guy Ritchie directed live-action Aladdin. We have seen Mena Massoud as Aladdin, but now we have the reveal of  Naomi Scott as Jasmine, and Will Smith as the Genie. To start off, Naomi Scott looks amazing as Jasmine in this image. The costume has the light blues which the character is known for, and they translate well into live action, along with the subtle middle eastern designs. I am glad that Scott is playing the part, and the character if Jasmine is aged up from the disturbingly young age from the animated film. Aladdin looks like what a live action Aladdin would look like, I did mention before that the age gap between Aladdin and Jasmine is closer and legal. I know that this is a promotional image, but Aladdin does look a little clean, considering that he is more or less a local street boy in  Agrabah. The thin...

RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET TRAILER BREAKDOWN

Image
Hey everyone, we are back with a brand new trailer for Wreck it Ralph 2, titled "Ralph Breaks the Internet", six years after the first film. This trailer shows off a little more of the film, the shameless plugs, and there was also a synopsis revealed which changes the view of the film. So let's go through the synopsis, and then the trailer from there. The synopsis states:  " Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2  leaves Litwak's video arcade behind, venturing into the uncharted, expansive and thrilling world of the internet - which may or may not survive Ralph's wrecking. Video game bad guy Ralph (John C. Riley) and fellow misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (Sarah Silverman) must risk it all by traveling to the world wide web in search of a replacement part to save Vanellope's video game, Sugar Rush. In way over their heads, Ralph and Vanellope rely on the citizen of the internet - the netizens - to help navigate their way, including a website ent...

CHRISTOPHER ROBIN TRAILER DISCUSSION

Image
The trailer for the Christopher Robin film is out and there is not too much to unpack from the trailer to warrant a breakdown, but there is some stuff to discuss. To start off, I completely forgot this was happening. I reported on this in 2016 when Marc Foster was announced as director, and everyone flipped out that the director of World War Z was directing a live-action Winnie the Pooh film This and the Mary Poppins film which we saw the trailer of a couple days ago, are the two live-action Disney films we are getting this year, well three if you include Wrinkle in Time. So Christopher Robin, directed by Marc Forster, is adapted off the Winnie the Pooh stories which have had possibly hundreds of books, cartoons, and animated films. The stories focus usually on a young boy, Christopher Robin, going on adventures with his animal friends, Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger, and others. Winnie the Pooh was one of the only cartoons I used to watch, so it is interesting to see wha...

Image

MARY POPPINS RETURNS TRAILER DISCUSSION

Image
I had no idea that this was happening. But that is right Disney is bringing us a brand new Mary Poppins reboot, titles "Mary Poppins Returns", directed by Rob Marshall. We see Emily Blunt take on the role of everyone's favorite nanny, and there is an amazing cast in this film. But the story is left unclear. We will get into both of those. The trailer looks a little gloomy. That has to do with the weather, and also the darker colors of the character's costumes. However, I really do love the fact that when Mary Poppins comes in with her umbrella, the sky lightens up with blue skies. It does make that clear contrast between a scene where Poppins is absent, and when she arrives. From the trailer, we see that this film clearly does not take place in contemporary times. Instead from the cars around, this may take place in the 1910's, like the original 1964 film. This can be seen from the details of the cars in the background to the clothes, the lack of technolog...

RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET TRAILER BREAKDOWN

Image
The sequel to the Walt Disney 2012 animated classic, Wreck it Ralph is back with a sequel titled "Ralph Breaks the Internet", and the first official trailer finally dropped, where we get a sense of the story of the film and where this film may take us involving the internet as suggested in the title. So let's get on with the breakdown. So it appears we start off in the same arcade where the owner installed the internet to the building and now everything including the arcade games is hooked up to it somehow. So we then see Ralph (John C. Reilly) and Vanellope (Sarah Silverman) go into the internet. As the arcade machines in the first film went through the power cords to the hub, the same is happening here, as the internet modem is connected to the power supply, thus the arcade characters connected to the same said power supply can travel to the internet. Look, that is just an interpretation, I really have no clue on what's going on. In this physical manifest...

INCREDIBLES 2 TRAILER BREAKDOWN

Image
We were promised a new Incredibles 2 trailer in the Olympics, and it was delivered, Yes, we have a brand new Incredibles 2 trailer where we see actual animation from the film and the story is spelled out on the table. So let's get into this breakdown. The trailer opens up straight after the first Incredibles film, where the Under-Miner (John Ratzenberger) is attacking the city. This definitely takes down the 20-year jump rumor and changes that to a 20-second jump between the films. With the team suiting up it appears that they wear their suits under their regular clothes. But now we know that only Mr. Incredible (Craig T. Nelson) and Elastagirl (Holly Hunter) fight the Under-Miner in this scene, while the kids wait to get ice cream, I think it was what they were going to get before the Under-Miner showed up. But it seems like Mr. and Mrs. Incredible will take down the Under-Miner. Back home, Elastagirl talks about how being a Super is still illegal and outlawed, that w...
