STAR WARS EPISODE IX TEASER TRAILER BREAKDOWN

Image
After nearly a year of no Star Wars films, the teaser trailer (and title) for Star Wars Episode IX has arrived as a part of Star Wars Celebration 2019. JJ Abrams has returned to direct the film, concluding his story that was set up in the Force Awakens. This teaser shows off a lot of new footage, the returning characters, and as I said before, the title reveal, which I will all break down, so let's get on with it. The trailer opens up with Rey (Daisy Ridley) on a sand planet, as she ignites the Skywalker family lightsaber, and runs towards a new imperial tie fighter racing towards her, as she flips over it. To make one thing clear, I believe that the tie fighter is piloted by Kylo Ren in this scene. The coloring and the design stray away from a regular tie fighter, and every sith has had their unique tie fighter in every trilogy with the longer design. The setting of this scene is very ambiguous, as there are two notable sand planets and it seems like the film would go ...

STAR WARS EPISODE IX FINISHED FILMING

Image
JJ Abrams has posted an image on his twitter revealing that he has finally finished filming Star Wars episode nine. In this image, we see the main cast members of the trilogy, Daisy Riddley (Rey), John Boyega (Finn), and Oscar Issac (Poe Dameron) hugging on set and in costume. So I wanted to go through what we will see in Star Wars episode nine, and when we can expect the first trailer to release for the film.  So with Abrams returning as director and this being the conclusion to the Skywalker saga, the film is going to have to pay off and conclude a lot. I am assuming Abrams is going to pay off the mystery box he created in the Force Awakens and may divert some directions the trilogy was going in after the Last Jedi, with his revealing motivations for Snoke, and the lives of Rey's parents. The film will also have to wrap up the First Order, the fate of the galaxy, and also what is Ben Solo and Rey's legacy and how that will carry the Skywalker name.  In th...

J.J ABRAMS DIRECTING EPISODE IX

Image
After Colin Trevorrow "mutually parted ways" with Disney and Lucasfilm on directing Star Wars Episode 9, speculation was up in the air of who would take on the last chapter the sequel trilogy. People thought that director of the last Jedi, Rian Johnson would direct the sequel, but it has been confirmed that The Force Awakens director, J.J Abrams will be directing Star Wars episode 9. This is some really awesome news, J.J started off the trilogy well, hopefully, he can end it as well.  I wouldn't have minded J.J directing the film or Rian Johnson, I also would have been open to other directors taking on the film. But J.J has superior knowledge to what is going to go down in the sequel trilogy which makes him a great fit. Also regarding episode 9, Disney did the smartest thing and pushed the release of the film back from May 2019 to December 20, 2019, due to the change of the director. I honestly prefer Star Wars at Christmas time, and why would you put Star W...

STAR WARS EPISODE IX RELEASE DATE

Image
Okay, so Disney announced that Star Wars episode IX will be released in theaters on May 24, 2019. I just have to at this is interesting. We have Avengers 4 coming out earlier that month, and not everyone is going to see the second biggest film Disney is going to put the year, in the first month. Avengers 4 will be in theaters for at least 2 months, the film should not have another big film in semi-competition with it. Another problem is the merchandise, Star Wars movies sell a ton of merchandise. Regardless of when a Star Wars movie is released, merchandise will be sold, but when Star Wars was the last movie everyone e saw before Christmas, everyone wants Star Wars merchandise, which would further increase sales for them. Anyway, it's great we are getting a Star Wars movie closer rather than further away.Disney did announce more release dates for the films: A wrinkle in time - March 9, 2018 Magic Camp - April 6, 2018 Live action Lion King - July 19, 2019 F...

NO CARRIE FISHER IN EPISODE IX

Image
There was a rumor going around that existing footage of Carrie Fisher was going to be used to have the character appear in Star Wars episode 9. In an interview with Good Morning America, president of Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kenedy said that Carrie's brother, Todd Fisher was confused on how existing footage of Carrie would be used, but Kathleen Kenedy cleared it all up and said that with the script of episode 9 only being thoughts it has been rewritten with no Carrie Fisher, which I am fine with. EXCLUSIVE: Lucasfilm President Kathy Kennedy says Carrie Fisher will NOT be in @StarWars Episode 9 as General Leia. #SWCO #TheLastJedi pic.twitter.com/gxH80QteYb — Good Morning America (@GMA) April 14, 2017 I think that this is a good call to make. If Leia did appear in episode 9 it would kind of feel wrong, knowing that what we would be witnessing on screen wouldn't actually be her. I would  appreciate a tribute to Carrie Fisher in the last Jedi. I  would like to hear...

PRINCESS LEIA IN EPISODE IX

Image
With the passing of Carrie Fisher in December, the question at hand was the role of Princess Leia in the last Jedi, her scenes have all been filmed, however with Star Wars episode nine being drafted, the role of princess Leia in the film is a question. Lucasfilm has confirmed that Leia will not be digitally recreated, however, Carrie Fisher's younger brother, Todd Fisher, and Carrie Fisher's daughter, Billie Lourde, has given Lucasfilm the right to use existing footage to have Leia in episode 9. "Both of us were like, 'Yes, how do you take her out of it?' And the answer is you don't ." Me personally, it will be different seeing Carie Fisher in the last Jedi, it feels odd knowing that this was the last project she filmed. But having 'her' appear in episode 9 with her not of even have filmed that, is even weirder.I wish that Carrie Fisher had a tribute at the end of the last Jedi, sending the character off, kind of like the Furious 7 tribute for...
