SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY TRAILER BREAKDOWN

Hey everyone, we were promised yesterday at the Superbowl that we would see the official full trailer for the Han Solo film, and today, it was delivered. This trailer had some new shots, which I will break down, but most of this is the same footage as the teaser trailer, which I will link at the end. I will also show off some of the new posters. But now, let's get on with the breakdown.

In the trailer, we start off with a new scene of Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich) and Qi'ra (Emilia Clarke) in a ground type vehicle driving past some imperial vehicles. It seems like this is the start of Han disconnecting and being more of an enemy to the Empire. This does not seem to connect to the Empire registration we saw in the last trailer.

This is where we see the story of the film unveiled in the trailer. The main portion of the film will focus on Beckett (Woody Harrelson) putting together a team of scoundrels, and scavengers. The plot of their mission is unknown, it is possible that they are out to collect an artifact, something that the Empire wants. But on the crew is where we will see our main cast. Down below is a collage of the characters that will be in the crew.
Starting from top left to bottom right we have Qi'ra who is an Imperial looking costume. She probably is not apart of the Empire, but just is rich. Next to her in the same shot is a new droid who appears to be their K2-SO of the group. Then we have Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover) who is looking fly as always. Next, we have a mystery character played by Thandie Newton. The next member of the crew is this space monkey, who appears to also be a pilot. And of course on the crew is Han Solo himself and Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo), who has a new looking double sash.

We then see Qi'ra in a fancy looking space costume. It seems like she could be the child of someone who is high up in the Imperial ranks, thus why she looks like she is loaded. What I am guessing her story is in the film is that one of her parents works for the Empire, and she wants to get away from all the terrible stuff, thus she ends up with Han on Beckett's mission.

These guys have an unknown motivation or race in the Star Wars universe. With Han pulling out his blaster Clint Eastwood style, it seems like that there is definitely going to be a showdown with these guys. We saw one of them on the ice monorail. But it is possible that these creatures are of a religion who hold an artifact, and Han and the crew have to go get it, thus leading to the confrontation.

This ship flying does not appear to be the Millennium Falcon, but instead an entirely different ship which has a hollow belly. The background setting is engulfed in an explosion. It is possible that the Death Star is firing down on this planet, however, it is unlikely knowing that this film takes place more than five years before A New Hope, and in Rogue One (which takes place an hour before episode 4) the Death Star was still fired for some of its first times. I might be wrong on that, comment below if I am.

Qi'ra is telling Han that she knows who he really is. This can go two ways. In the film, she could know that Han was a part of the Empire, and telling the rest of the crew would get him kicked off, or Han has been talking himself up and that Qi'ra knows that Han is a scoundrel. Either way, it might not look too good for Han. The adventure in this film could go down as a bad memory for Han, and that is why he brings up no mention of it in the original trilogy. Alden's acting in this scene does look a little stiff, it might be a part of the character, as Han is building up his confidence we see in the original trilogy.

The last shot appears to be taken out of the final act of the film where we see Han and the crew on the Falcon being tracked down by the Empire. But it seems like Han will have to make the Kessel run in 14 parsecs to pass through this tentacle monster, which is kind of new to the Star Wars universe. We have seen tentacle monsters in Star Wars before, and it has not been too good. So let's see how this goes.

Anyway, that does it for the breakdown of the trailer, it was awesome to see some new footage from the film, and I am kind of getting excited. I personally was not excited for this film at first, but now this looks interesting. I would like to hear your thoughts on the trailer down below. But now we have some new posters, above is four new character posters that were released today and they all look really awesome, with a 'wanted' type vibe to them. I am glad Chewbacca got his own poster, but that Lando poster looks freaking awesome. What is your favorite poster? comment below.
