NIGHTWING CAST- TITANS CASTING

Image
The casting for Nightwing has been announced, and since this is one of the last of the main cast members to be announced I decided to compile all the casting announcements at once. So starting with the new announcement, and the leader of the Titans, Nightwing. Brenton Thwaites is going to play Dick Grayson as Nightwing. The actor is 28 years old, so in terms of the show, the character is going to be a little older. It appears he has been experienced as being a vigilante, whether that be Robin or he has been Nightwing before. In the show, I believe they are going to make Dick Grayson a police officer, so it seems like the character would have been Robin then retired and is now Nightwing when the show starts. But the actor you may have noticed him from Pirates of the Caribbean 5 from earlier this year, I think he will do a good job as the character. A couple weeks ago, Anna Diop was announced as Starfire. I was excited when this was announced. The actor is 30 years old, so t...

MISTY KNIGHT'S BIONIC ARM REVEALED

Image
A new image of Simone Missick as Misty Knight has been revealed by Entertainment Weekly . So spoilers ahead for the Defenders if you have not seen it, well the image and title does spoil it anyway. The image shows off her new bionic arm that she received at the end of the Defenders, from the Rand corporation, after her right arm was cut off by Bakuto. Looking at the arm, it seems to look not too out of the ordinary, as in it works as a bionic arm, however, it may have other features which will help play into the character's role in the shows. It appears as though the arm will be a practical effect, as it seems to go over Simone's real arm, thus it will save costs on CG. The costume of Misty looks accurate to the comics surprisingly, with the red shirt. I am surprised that she is going to look more like her comic book self than Mike Colter does as Luke Cage in this image. Anyway, I really like the look of the bionic arm, Simone Missick still looks great as Misty, and I...

INHUMANS NEW PROMO BREAKDOWN

Image
The first two episodes of the Inhumans is set to air on September 1st on IMAX screens, and we have a promo of the show which shows us Medusa and her fate, more like her hair's fate; Which is the only new footage from the promo. So at the end of the trailer, we saw no hair Medusa on Earth, presumably after Maximus exiles her, and she is most likely trying to find Blackbolt and the other members of the Inhuman Royal family also exiled on Earth. Medusa losing her hair has been done in the comics before, with Maximus being the one to do it like what the show seems to be doing. The reason why I think that the show is doing it is that of two reasons: 1. They do not make Meduas overpower. 2. The hair costs a lot to animate and to save money on making the hair, not move is taking a budget cut. Anyway, Inhumans is coming soon to IMAX, but if you can not access an IMAX screen the show will air on tv starting September 29th so everyone will be able to see it eventually. I wou...

THE WASP FIRST LOOK

Image
I am honoured to be on set today playing #TheWasp on what would be Jack Kirby's 100th birthday. . #ThankYouJackKirby #AntManAndTheWasp pic.twitter.com/EBsV8jTK34 — Evangeline Lilly (@EvangelineLilly) August 28, 2017 Evangeline Lilly has revealed the first look at the suit she will be wearing to play Wasp in the film, Antman & the Wasp, next year. Looking at the suit, Evangeline Lilly looks great, you can definitely tell that she has been working out to get into shape The suit itself looks really awesome, it has the MCU realism style, with the suit taking aspects of the comic book suit, but modernizing it. This suit took it to a whole new level, it sort of resembles the comic book wasp suit, but not a whole lot, compared to other film adaptations of comic book costumes. It is insane to see how far Jack Kirby (Happy Birthday) and Stan Lee's designs have come, from paper the film. But I do appreciate the new design of the suit in the film, maintaining some resembl...

RICK AND MORTY REST AND RICKLAXATION REVIEW

Image
Season 3 Episode 6: Rick and Morty are back for a new episode, and this week we have a new version of Rick and Morty, toxic Rick, and toxic Morty. So spoilers ahead for the episode, let's recap the episode.  Rick pulls Morty out of school after he discovers that Jessica is single. The two go on a mission retrieving a crystal on a Death Star trench run. After almost being killed on their adventure, Rick decides that he and Morty need to go to a spa and relax. At the spa, Rick and Morty go into a sauna which takes out what the individual considers "toxic" about themselves. Coming out of the sauna is a brand new trusting Rick and a confident Morty. However, trapped inside the sauna is a toxic version of Rick and a toxic Morty, in a toxic waste land, where Rick is acting like a god, creating toxic electricity, and Morty is super insecure. Back at home, Morty is doing well in school, however, Rick discovers that they left their toxic parts behind, as he get...

DCTV 2017 PROMO BREAKDOWN

Image
Today we have got a new video advertising the DCTV shows and what is to come in the fall from the CW with Supergirl, the Flash, Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow. So let's break down some of the new shots from the promo. One of the first shots in the trailer is of Iris telling team Flash "It's up to use to protect the City", as Barry, the Flash is gone into the speed force, some people are saying that Wally will wear the red suit that Barry wore, well until Barry comes back, then he might go back to the yellow suit. Here is a quick shot of what's happening in National City, a Supergirl day. Like the Flash, Supergirl is getting her own celebration, as she saved the city from a huge invasion the year before. But this might be from a previous episode, correct me if I am wrong. The shot in the thumbnail, Grant Gustin is back as Barry Allen in the future Flash suit. Cisco (Carlos Valdes) is in the shot as well. So what I think is happening here is Cisco ma...

JOKER AND HARLEY QUINN FILM ANNOUNCED

Image
Hey everyone, back again with what seems like daily announcements of DC films. Today it has been announced by The Hollywood Reporter that Gleen Ficarra and John Requa are going to be directing a Joker and Harley Quinn film. And yes, unlike the announced Joker film, this one will be in the DCEU. So what exactly is going on? This is a solo film of the two, which will come after the god forbidden Suicide Squad sequel, but it is not clear if this is what the Gotham City Sirens film has evolved into, or if this is now a new film in development. It isn't clear, but it is happening, simultaneously while the other solo Joker film is in development. That is really going to confuse people. So after Justice League releases this year, the DC film slate is currently looking like: Aquaman- December 2018* Shazam- 2019* Wonder Woman 2- December 2019* Cyborg- 2020 Green Lantern Corps- 2020* Batgirl* The Batman Flashpoint* Black Adam Suicide Squad 2* Joker and Harley Gotham...

STANDALONE JOKER FILM (NOT IN DCEU)

Image
It has been talked about that the Joker is getting a standalone film, not connected to the DC Extended Universe. It is being reported that Todd Philips is partnered with Scott Silver to make a Joker film set in the 80's which is not connected to any other DC continuity. This is really big news, a Joker stand alone film we will talk about, but it not being in the DCU is a whole other topic. First, let's talk about the Joker film as its self. It's set in the 80's which will hopefully bring a neat vibe to the film, something we have seen a little bit of in the 1989 film, Batman, which had the Joker. If the film is a solo film, I feel like it is going to be an origin story, which I am not too full on board with. The Joker is more terrifying when you do not know his motivation, what makes him get out of bed a wreck havoc over Gotham. But in saying that, an origin story could make us see why the Joker does what he does, and how horrific and depressing his origin story ...

RICK AND MORTY THE WHIRLY DIRLY CONSPIRACY REVIEW

Image
Season 3 Episode 5: On this episode of Rick and Morty, we get a Rick and Jerry adventure, and we also get a side story with Summer feeling insecure. So spoilers ahead for the episode, let's recap. The episode starts off with Rick dragging Jerry out of his single apartment to go on an adventure. Rick tells him that Morty told him to do so out of guilt. On the adventure, they go to a fancy alien truck stop where everyone is immortal within a barrier. At the stop, Jerry is approached by an alien, Risotto, to get Rick to ride a rollercoaster, the Whirly Dirly, where there is a point where the immortality barrier ends thus a hitman can take out Rick. Jerry accepts to do so after as he still sees Rick as the point as to where he and Beth got separated. On the Whirly Dirly Rollercoaster, Rick decides to apologize to Jerry for what has happened to him. Rick is about to be assassinated, but Jerry sacrifices himself, but immediately gets brought back to life. Rick goes to fight th...

THE DEFENDERS REVIEW ... SO SPOILERS

Image
DEFENDERS ASSEMBLE: The Marvel Netflix tv shows, The Defenders is out and having of binged it within two days, let's review the show. The Defenders revolves around vigilantes, Matt Murdock/ Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Danny Rand, the Immortal Iron Fist (Finn Jones) have to face the dangerous organisation the hand, who threaten both the heroes vigilantes lives and their personal lives. The Defenders team up to put an end to the hand when they surface in New York, with the leader, Alexandra (Sigourney Weaver) having resurrected Elektra (Elodie Yung) to take out The Defenders. First things first, one of the great things about the Netflix shows is the title sequences, Defenders does not disappoint, I loved the use of color and the silhouettes of the characters over the map of New York, it looked amazing, and the music really made me get into the mode to watch the show. Going through initial thoughts, I really enjoye...

RIVERDALE SEASON 2 PROMO BREAKDOWN

Image
There has been a new promo for Riverdale season 2 released, and between all the critics, well critiques, there are some really interesting shots in the trailer, especially at the end. So with under 50 days left, let's breakdown the promo for Riverdale season 2. In this shot we see Betty (Lili Reinhart) walking with a newspaper, handing in her mother, Alice (Madchen Amick). Betty seems mad, and it is easy to see why. The title of the newspaper (Which Alice most likely wrote), says "Death Diner". Dramatizing what happened to Fred. As I believe that Fred is not dead, but he might be, in that case, the newspaper title would just be insensitive. A new shooter is in the town of Riverdale. It is questionable where this is taking place, but it could be a number of people: The Pop's diner shooter The other Cooper child Ms. Grundy's ex-abusive-boyfriend Random criminal The last shots are really interesting in terms of what we will be seeing Archie ...

DOCTOR STRANGE IN THOR RAGNAROK

Image
A new international trailer for Thor Ragnarok has been released, and we get a glimpse of Doctor Strange in the film. It was announced that Benedict Cumberbatch would appear in the film since the post credit scene of Doctor Strange. So what is Doctor Strange going to be doing in the film? Well, he will be helping Thor and Loki search for Odin, presumably, after Loki wiped his memory and dumped on Earth at the end of Thor: The Dark World, so Loki could be king of Asgard. But now since Hela is out, the brothers need the help of their father to take down Hela. While on Eart, it seems like Thor will lose his hammer, as we see it gets destroyed on Earth in the trailer. Then the rest of the film that we see in the trailers comes after this. So Doctor Strange will most likely be at the beginning of the film It is great that the films are tying in Doctor Strange with other Avengers so when Infinity War rolls around, Doctor Strange is not the odd one out, and he knows people on the ...

CYBORG BEING REWORKED IN JUSTICE LEAGUE

Image
It has been known that ever since Zac Snyder stepped down from directing Justice League due to a family tragedy, Joss Whedon has stepped in. And he is now doing a series of reshoots for the film, heavily involving Ray Fisher, Cyborg. It appears that these reshoots may be making Cyborg a more light hearted character, to shift the tone of the film more. We saw that CVyborg was going to be a darker character from the horror like scene he was in Batman vs Superman, and it seems like, having a tragic backstory, and not having any feelings seems something easy to make dark, however, to lighten up the tone of the character like the rest of DCEU, the reshoots are making Cyborg lighter in tone and not so sad all the time. The recentr trailer has shown this with Cyborg making some quips. It has also been said recetnly that in Justice Legaue, Cyborg will hold resentments towards his father in the film. This is probably because Victor wishes he had died rather than to become Cyborg and...

RICK AND MORTY VINDICATORS 3: THE RETURN OF WORLDENDER REVIEW

Image
Season 3 Episode 4: Back with another episode of Rick and Morty to review, Rick and Morty: Infinity Saw we have to, so spoilers ahead, let's do a small recap. The episode has Morty and Rick going to help the Vindicators to defeat Worldender, a being of ultimate power who is here to end all life. During their time, Rick gets drunk and blacks out. When the Vindicators, Morty and Rick go to fight Worldender, drunk Rick killed him and he sets up a classic game of saw for the Vindicators where all the members get picked off one by one, with Rick, Morty, and Supernova surviving and ending with a dance party. This episode was a parody of the Avengers/Guardians of the Galaxy and Saw films. More the Avengers films as to how everything is hyped up and glorified, however, doesn't live up to expectations, such as the villains. The Vindicators were interesting characters, as for long they lasted, we had the Star-lord rip off (Christian Slater), rocket raccoon ripoff, Crocubot (Ma...

HELA IN INFINITY WAR THEORIES

Image
Cate Blanchett is playing the Goddess of Death, Hela, later this year in Thor Ragnarok. Many people have come out with theories of Hela's role in the film and the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), especially Avengers Infinity War. So the first theory states that Hela is going to be the replacement for the physical embodiment of Death in the Infinity War film, which seems like it is going to be inspired by the Infinity Gauntlet story. So in that story, Thanos wants to impress Mistress Death, to do this he plans to wipe out half the life of the universe. To carry out this task, Thanos assembles the Infinity gems, however, his plan is interfered with by the Avengers. What fans are proposing is that Hela is going to be the replacement of Death in the MCU, she is the one Thanos wants to impress. It makes sense, as she is the goddess of Death, and it will save a new character from being developed in the film. It works out in favor of the film and the cinematic universe...

SILVER AND BLACK RELEASE DATE

Image
The Silver and Black film, focussing on SIlver Sable and Black Cat, has been in talks for a couple of months now. With it being confirmed in the MCU, and not being confirmed, it is all up in the air at this point. But the film has been given a release date, February 8, 2019. As confirmed by the Exhibitor Relations on Twitter . It seems like a time that it would be released. The release date is the same date that the Lego movie sequel will come out, well that is for the United States. The Lego movies at the beginning of the year usually get pushed back in other places in the world so Silver and Black might do well internationally, financially that is. The following week is where there is other superhero film competition, and Untitled Fox/Marvel film is set to come out. That film is unclear, it could be an X-Men film, a Deadpool spinoff, or a Fantastic Four film, such as the Doctor Doom film that was announced. With Gine Prince-Blythewood directing, the film will most li...

DEADPOOL 2 CABLE REVEALED

Image
DeadPool 2: Your premium #Cable provider. #DeadPool2 pic.twitter.com/LboS0iVDqZ — Ryan Reynolds (@VancityReynolds) August 7, 2017 Ryan Reynolds has taken to twitter to reveal the first images of Josh Brolin as Cable in the upcoming film, Deadpool 2. First of all the look of the character looks really awesome. You can see how buffed up Josh Brolin got in playing Cable. The cyborg's eye looks great, especially with the orange glow. I appreciate that Cable looks more human, not someone who has had beyond excessive amounts of steroids. The suit that Cable is sporting looks basic, as this may not be his full superhero suit, just essentials on him, like to teddy bear, and the ammo. The robotic parts of the character are showing through, such as his left arm, and on his neck. This is a really neat adaptation from comic to live action, the suit is overall a toned down version of his classic blue suit, which we may see in Deadpool 3, later down the line when the current X-Men ...
