NIGHTWING CAST- TITANS CASTING
The casting for Nightwing has been announced, and since this is one of the last of the main cast members to be announced I decided to compile all the casting announcements at once.
So starting with the new announcement, and the leader of the Titans, Nightwing.
Brenton Thwaites is going to play Dick Grayson as Nightwing.
The actor is 28 years old, so in terms of the show, the character is going to be a little older. It appears he has been experienced as being a vigilante, whether that be Robin or he has been Nightwing before. In the show, I believe they are going to make Dick Grayson a police officer, so it seems like the character would have been Robin then retired and is now Nightwing when the show starts. But the actor you may have noticed him from Pirates of the Caribbean 5 from earlier this year, I think he will do a good job as the character.
A couple weeks ago, Anna Diop was announced as Starfire. I was excited when this was announced. The actor is 30 years old, so the oldest of the Titans cast, but this is a good thing as Starfire has always been almost a mother figure, especially in these new animated films. The actor was in the tv show 24 legacy from earlier this year. I am excited to see what this character is going to look like in the show.
The first Titan that was announced was around a month ago, that was Tegan Croft as Raven. She is only 13 years old, so definitely a younger Raven we will be getting in the show, especially in contrast to the other cast members. Raven seems like a pivotal character to the show, as her father, Trigon may be a villain. But you know the actor from Osiris Child from last year, or the Australian Soap Oprah, Home and Away. Anyway, I am excited to see how the character is made on screen.
Overall, the cast for the show is really solid. The only other main Titan that has not been announced is Beast Boy, which will hopefully come soon as the show is going to film later this year. The Titans show is coming on the new DC Comic streaming service with the show, Titans coming out 2018. There has still been no word whether it will be tied into the other DCTV shows such as the Flash, Arrow, Supergirl, and Legends, as there could be some really neat crossover.
I would like to hear your thoughts on the cast of the show down in the comments below, who are you most excited to see? As always thanks for reading, take care.
