Seeing the firefight, Henderson and the police head out to the forest, while Tobias, Syonide, and Khalil fight their way to get to Proctor who gets away.

The Pierce family getaway in a van, as they confront Proctor in front of all the Meta-Human pods. Gambi kills Proctor, as they realize they need a case to unlock the Meta-Human cells. Back home, Jefferson and the girls run home to Lynn. The episode ends with Tobias opening Proctor’s case, smirking that he owns the city and that he wants Black Lightning dead.

This episode of Black Lightning was brilliant in the way it used amazing visual techniques to illustrate the story of the episode and the main story of the season wrapping up. The way that the first half of the episode played out was great. I enjoyed the flashbacks of the episode, it created some amazing emotional drama between Jefferson and the thoughts of his father, Alvin. The flashbacks were amazing in showing the backstory of Jefferson. I loved the way that the scenes were in black and white, with the blue lightning produced by Jefferson was in color. The dreamscape scene with the present day Jefferson and Alvin was one of the most spectacular scenes in the episode, I will say my favorite in the episode It was a scene which showed the backbone of the character of Jefferson in a great way, where we see why he is the way he is today. For a season finale, this episode had a great emotional payoff, thanks to this scene.

There were plenty of other great scenes in the episode. I liked how Jennifer gave Jefferson his powers back.It was a great way to start to enroll the idea of heroism to the character. The fight scene which followed that was great. The music playing over that was so amazing. I also did enjoy the end confrontation with Proctor. One of the coolest scenes in the episode was how all the different parties went over to all the place to achieve their goals. It was a great montage of the police gearing up and Tobias and company going after Proctor.

Cress Williams did a brilliant job in playing Jefferson Pierce, Black Lightning, in this episode. The emotional side to the character was shown in the dreamscape scene, and it was all thanks to the acting of Williams who was astounding in the episode. The rest of the cast in the episode was great as well, in playing their characters and showing how they are reacting to the scenarios presented to them. Starring in the episode we had Nafessa Williams (Anissa Pierce/ Thunder), China Ann McClain (Jenifer Pierce), Christine Adamas (Lynn Pierce), James Remar (Peter Gambi), Damon Gupton (Luitenant Henderson), Marvin Jones III (Tobias Whale, Charlbi Dean Kriek (Syonide), Jordan Calloway (Khalil), William Catlett (Lala), Skye P. Marshall (Kara Fowdy), Gregg Henry (Martic Proctor), Kaden Washington Lewis (young Jefferson), and Keith Arthur Bolden (Alvin Pierce).

In conclusion, this episode of Black Lightning was an exciting way to conclude the season. The episode was brilliant in of itself, and the way that it was set for next season was brilliant. I will give this episode an 8.5 out of 10. I would like to hear your thoughts on the season one finale of Black Lightning down in the comments below.
