KITTY PRIDE SOLO FILM

The director of the first Deadpool film, Tim Miller, is now going to direct a new Kitty Pryde film. This film was never previously rumored and is the first X-Men film which was announced by Fox since the Disney deal. Granted, that deal has not gone through yet. But let's talk about how this film could fit into the MCU if it will or if this film will stand in the regular.

If anything this Kitty Pryde film seems like it will be more connected to the already existing X-Men continuity. In the previous films, we have seen Ellen Page play the character. Last we saw of her was in 2014 in Days of Future Past. If this film is in the X-Men continuity it would seem as though Ellen Page would have to return to the role, and who knows if she would or not.

If the film had to recast Kitty Pryde, it would be easier to explain the difference in the character appearance with the film taking place in a different continuity, such as the MCU. If this is the Marvel Cinematic Univer, this is a very weird film to have in the MCU, considering Kitty is a younger X-Men character.

However, Kitty Pryde could be a key player in combining the X-Men continuity and MCU together. Kitty Pryde in the films has shown off a bunch of insane skills, such as transporting minds into the past. Kitty could be given the power to cross universes, and maybe she goes out of control and combines the MCU with the X-Men universe. This would require some assumptions such as Ellen Page returning to play the character and if Marvel want's the existing X-Men continuity in the MCU.

This is a very confusing announcement. If this film goes into production it could be done at Fox, but then does Disney take over? This is all very confusing and this film may never happen. However it is exciting to speculate how Kitty Pryde could cross the X-Men into the MCU, because I do believe that if, or when the X-Men character's come into the MCU, most of the characters will be recast such as the Fantastic Four, and the older X-Men, but a few characters will be kept such as Deadpool and X-23. Comment below your thoughts on this announcement, as always, thanks for reading, take care.
