ARROW "DIVIDED" REVIEW

Season 6 Episode 10:

Hey, everyone, we are back with a brand new review on the midseason premiere of Arrow season 6. In this episode, we see how the teams are developing since the mid-season break. So spoilers ahead for the episode, let's recap.

With the new recruits off team Arrow, Felicity and John discover that the Arrow cave has been compromised by Caden James. Felicity and John meet with Oliver and tell him that Caden could have been spying on the team for months. The original Arrow team sets up base in an Argus facility.

Meanwhile, Curtis is helping Rene to remove any information Samanada Watson has on him as Wilddog. Also going on, Dinah is rebuilding her relationship with Vince. Oliver is approached by Jerry Bertanelli, who tells the Green Arrow that Caden James, Black Siren, and Ricardo Diaz approached him and want to buy his port. Later, Oliver has a talk with Thea at the mayor's office and then Felicity calls him telling Oliver that she found Caden James.

Oliver suits up and confronts Caden James. Oliver soon discovers that Caden is not only working with Black Siren and Ricardo, but he has also teamed up with Vigilante, and Anatoli. Outgunned, Oliver quickly escapes the room and tells Felicity and John about the new supervillain team. Later that night, Felicity and John call Rene, Curtis, and Dinah into the apartment where they tell them about the supervillain team and how they have also been spying on the team. Felicity also tells Dinah that Vince is back as the Vigilante. Dinah walks off and confronts Vince. She attempts to apprehend him, however, Vince knocks Dinah out. At Rene's apartment, Curtis suggests that Samanda got the lead on Rene from information from Cayden James. Dinah walks into the apartment where she tells Rene and Curtis that they need to form their own team.

At the port, Oliver and John pant some explosives. Back at the Arrow cave, Oliver suits up. At the port, Jerry Bertanelli is meet by Cayden James and his gang of criminals. The two parties start to shoot at each other when an explosive goes off. Oliver comes in and starts to take down the criminals on Cayden's side. Felicity and John remotely control the T-spheres and help Oliver in the fight. Oliver gets tackled by the Vigilante and makes his escape when an explosion goes off. Jerry is killed by Ricardo Diaz, and Cayden and his possy get the port.

Back in the apartment, Oliver tells Curtis, Rene, and Dinah that he is sorry and offers them to be back on Team Arrow. However, the new recruits do not accept as they know that Oliver does not trust them. Curtis hands John a microchip to stabilize his arm, and then leaves. Curtis shows Dinah and Rene a new base that he fixed up. We cut to Cayden who sees that Dinah knows that Vince is working with him. The episode ends in the Arrow cave where Felicity places the microchip in John's arm. John's arm stabilizes and he is now prepared to go back in the field.

Overall, this episode of Arrow was a pretty solid way to start off the rest of the season. I like the idea that Oliver is finding out that he has to face a team of villains with just the OG team Arrow. It does make for some interesting storytelling as to how Oliver does not match the skills of some of the members of Cayden's possy. The new recruits forming their own team is an exciting story. I am looking forward to how they will operate themselves. It would be awesome if Rene and Curtis invited Ragman into the team, I really want to see that character back in the DCTV shows, because by now his rags should be repaired.

In this episode of Arrow, there were some Batman references. There was, of course, the shoutout to Huntress in the episode   But the biggest Easter egg of all was when Jerry told Oliver that he needs a light with an Arrow silhouette, an obvious shoutout to the Bat signal. The Flash actually made a Flash signal back in season two.

The cast in the episode was as always great. Leading the episode was of course Stephen Amell (Oliver/ Green Arrow), and then we also had in the episode Emilly Bett Rickards (Felicity/ Overwatch), David Ramsey (John Diggle), Juliana Harkavy (Dinah/ Black Canary), Echo Kellum (Curtis/ Mr. Teriffic), Rick Gonzalez (Rene/ Wild Dog), Willa Holland, (Thea Queen), Paul Blackthorne (Quentin Lance), Michael Emmerson (Cayden James), Katie Kassidy (Laurel/ Black Siren), Johan Urb (Vince/ Vigilante), Kirk Acevedo (Ricardo Diaz), David Nykl (Anatoli Knyazev), and Louis Ferreira (Jerry Bertanelli).

In conclusion, this episode d Arrow was a solid start to the second half of the season. The episode had quality in the film techniques used for the camera shots and the storyline flowed reliably smoothly. The cast of the episode all brought great performances, as usual, creating a more compelling story. I will give this episode of Arrow an 8.5 out of 10.
