The next morning, Jughead meets with Betty at Pops, and they both want to get out of Riverdale.  At school, Nick shows up and invites Veronica, Kevin, the Pussy Cats, Reggie, Cheryl, Archie and Betty to a party. Outside of the room, Archie asks Betty if she got a call from the Black Hood, but Betty says she did not. Later that night at the party, everyone is having a good time, but Betty looks like she saw a ghost. Nick offers everyone some Jingle Jangle, which Veronica takes. Archie says "no" at first, but after getting a little jealous of the way Nick acting in front of Veronica, he decides to have some. Veronica starts talking and then Betty stops her and tells her that no one thinks of her as a friend and that she is the same old brat that she was a year ago before she moved to Riverdale. After a few more harsh comments, Betty walks out with Veronica in tears.

At the South-Side, Toni warns Jughead how tough the third trail is, but Jughead is determined to be a Serpent. Back at the party, Veronica is still upset Betty was mean to her. Nick then tries to flirt with Veronica and gets a little too touchy. Veronica then slaps Nick for harassing her and leaves.

At a bench on the side of the street, Betty gets a call from the Black Hood, he tells her that she was successful in breaking off her relationship with Veronica, and now she needs to break off her relationship with Jughead. The call ends with betty crying. The next day at school, Archie asks Betty what happened with last night. She comes clean to Archie and tells him that the Black Hood told her to break off her friendship with Veronica. She then tells Archie that she has to do the same with Jughead, so she asks him to do so.

Meanwhile, the Lodges are holding an event to celebrate them building buildings on the South-Side of Riverdale. At the event, Hal shows up and he tells Hiram that Alice took a break because of what happened in the paper, but then Alice shows up in a skimpy dress and greets everyone not giving a care about what people think of her.

Archies goes to visit Jughead at the South-Side where he tells Betty wants to break up. Jughead is confused, and then the Serpents come over for Jughead's third trial to be a Serpent. Archie gets furious that his friend is becoming a Serpent and says that it is a good thing Betty is leaving him.

At the event, Nick meets Cheryl and drops a pill in her drink. Later at the event, Veronica performs with the Pussycats, "out Tonight" While the music plays, we see Jughead go through his third trial, which is him getting punched by each Serpent, which makes him bleed on the ground.

While performing, Veronica sees Nick take a light-headed Cheryl home. We then cut to Nick putting Cheryl on his bed, Veronica and the Pussycats show up and stop Nick from raping Cheryl by beating the crap out of him, knocking Nick out.

We cut back to Jughead on the ground, he is helped up by the Serpents and awarded his jacket and the position as a Serpent. Back with Betty, she gets a call from the Black Hood, and he tells her that she did a good job. The Black Hood tells Betty to go to a house where she will discover the identity of the Black Hood. Betty races over to the house where she finds a gift in the house. The Black Hood tells her (over the phone) to open the gift and put on the hood. Betty does as the Black Hood says, she looks in a mirror and is wearing the Black Hood. The Black Hood tells her that he did this to show Betty that they are one in the same. Betty hears a noise, takes off the hood and runs out of the house emotionally traumatized.

Betty gets a call from Archie to tell her to come over. Betty does and she finds Archie, Veronica, and the Pussycats comforting Cheryl over what nearly happened. At Jughead's house, he is finally a Serpent, Toni comes over to congratulate him and she asks him about Betty and if she knows. Jughead says they broke up, and he kisses Toni.

The episode ends back at Betty's house, she is listing down clues as to who the Black Hood is. She then gets a call from the Black Hoos who confronts her that she told Archie about the calls. He says he will kill Polly if she does not give the Black Hood the name of a person to murder. Betty is panicking and quickly names Nick, the guy who nearly raped Cheryl.

What this episode did well was build up suspense. It was intense seeing what the Black Hood would ask for next, and how Betty would go about handling it. I was interested in what the Black Hood would make Betty do in the episode. There were some great charcter arcs in the episode with Veronica and Jughead as well. But if I do have to speculate on the Black Hood's identity, I would say it is Hal Cooper. It may be someone else, there could be multiple Black Hood's, it is hard to tell at this point.

Lily Reinhart was amazing in the episode as Betty Cooper. The way she portrayed the character in this emotional torment was great, and something that was great to see from the charcter. I am super excited for the arc the charcter is heading in this episode, and how she will be affected, but more importantly how she affects everyone else with her actions.

The rest of the cast in the episode was great, we had KJ Apa (Archie Andrews), Cole Sprouse (Jughead), Madchen Amick (Alice Cooper), Lochlyn Munro (Hal Cooper), Camila Mendes (Veronica Lodge), Madelaine Petsch (Cheryl Blossom), Vanessa Morgan (Toni Topaz),
Marisol Nichols (Hermione Lodge), Mark Consuelos (Hiram Lodge), Graham Phillips (Nik St.Clair), Ashleigh Murray (Josie McCoy), Haly Law (Valerie Brown), Asha Bromfield (Melody Valentine), Cassey Cott (Kevin Keller), and Luke Perry (Fred Andrews).

Overall, this episode of Riverdale was such a great episode filled with intense storylines ranging from a series of different characters. I will give this episode of Riverdale a 9 out of 10. Please comment below your thoughts on the episode down in the comments below, and who do you think is the Black Hood? As always thanks for reading, take care.
