YOUNG JUSTICE OUTSIDERS PART ONE REVIEW
Season 3, Episodes 1-13
I was going to do weekly reviews, but then I didn't know if I would do all three episodes in one review, or three separate ones, but nevertheless, here we are with the review on the first half of season three. Spoilers ahead for the first 13 episodes of the season.
Just to recap: two years after season two, some members of the Justice League are off in space, while the heroes on Earth are under watch by the United Nations and Lex Luthor. When half the members of the Justice League divide during a meta-human trafficking crisis, Dick Grayson has to suit up as Nightwing and assemble a small team known as the "Outsiders" of Superboy, Artemis, Oracle, and Black Lightning to stop the trafficking crisis with the help of a few other new recruitments.
So to start off, the time jump between this season and the last was great. It wasn't too long, compared to the last five year time jump, however, it was long enough for some of these characters to grow up and develop a little more without feeling like they were completely different.
The story of the season was also great. I did like the concept of meta-human trafficking on Earth for Darkseid. It was an interesting plot which tied into what we saw as the end stinger of season two. The show also got a little darker, and a little more mature in terms of some of the plot and the graphics. Things which struck me was Halo first being blown up and Victor being torn in half. Both had great animation and showed the graphic details of the pain.
I did like the focus on the different groups of characters. Black Lightning felt like a through a line on this season of this show which was great, as we explored his fall from the Justice League, and then joining Nightwing. The charcter tropes from the comics and television show were captured on the show, and it also explored the character's rise from his demise.
The main characters that we followed through most of the episodes were Nightwing, Artemis, Superboy, and Miss Martian. There were mostly in separate episodes for the first few at least. In terms of the actual Young Justice team, Miss Martian was leading the team of sidekicks of the heroes who were still in the Justice League. So Bart Allen, Blue Bettle, Wonder Girl, Static, and 13 are the roster of the main team. Although I do like Bart Allen, I was kind of glad that we didn't see him too much in this first part of the season, as we got to see our heroes that we have been following since 2010, except for Aqualad who is now Aquaman- we barely saw him.
The new characters were some of the more interesting characters and well fleshed out I have seen. The main characters who were Nightwing's new recruits were Geo-Force, Halo, Forager, and Cyborg. These characters are introduced at different points through the season, and they worked really well with the other characters that they were with forming the Outsiders team. I loved the way that they introduced Halo and Geo-Force at the same time and played off that duo in the season. Of course, I did love Forager in the season, he was awesome. I hope they keep him in his alien form and not his human form for most of the season. And then, Cyborg. Three down, two to go. We finally got Cyborg in the series, and he was done justice. The character was aged down a little bit to be a senior in High School, which was appropriate. I am hoping to see more of the character in the series, especially with Nightwing and Beast Boy.

The end stinger with Deathstroke at the end of episode 13 was awesome and I would love to see how he fully factors into the plot with being a member of the light now. And he is more proof of Teen Titans characters coming to the show. So I guess next is Starfire and Raven.
The cast of this season of Young Justice was great. All the directors, supervisors, writers, and of course animators were all great, along with everyone else. However, the voice actors did a fantastic job in bringing such lie into these characters throughout these thirteen episodes, to convey an awesome story. Starring in Outsiders we had Jesse McCartney (Nightwing), Khary Payton (Black Lightning/ Aquaman/ Silas Stone), Stephenie Lemelin (Tigress), Nolan North (Superboy/ Superman), Danica McKellar (Miss Martian), Grey Griffin (Helga Jace), Troy Baker (Geo-Force), Zehra Fazal (Halo), Jason Spisak (Forager/ Kid Flash), Zeno Robinson (Cyborg), Alyson Stoner (Oracle), Chris Freeman (Arsenal/Red Arrow/ Guardian), Tara Strong (Terra), Bruce Greenwood (Batman), Maggie Q (Wonder Woman), Alan Tudyk (Green Arrow), Vanessa Marshall (Black Canary), Kevin Michael Richardson (Dr. Fate), Jason Marden (Impulse), Eric Lopez (Blue Bettle), Mae Whitman (Wonder Girl), Bryton James (Static), Lauren Tom (Thirteen), Greg Cipes (Beast Boy), Miguel Ferrer (Vandal Savage), and Fred Tatatiscore (Deathstroke).

In conclusion, this season of Young Justice was an amazing way to bring back this incredible show. I loved where the characters were taken and the more mature stories that were allowed to be developed on screen. I will give Young Justice Outsiders a 9/10.
