LADY SIF TV SERIES ON DISNEY+
There are rumors, that after many years of absense in the MCU, Jamie Alexander's character, Lay Sif, may be returning to the MCU in her own Disney Plus streaming show. Let's go over where the character has been, and what the is the possibility of this show happening.
Last time we saw Lady Sif was in season two of Agents of SHIELD back in 2015. She was going to appear in Thor Ragnarok but Alexander had some scheduling issues, so her role was cut from the film. I am kind of glad that did happen just on the account that she could have been killed off.
But in MCU, I am guessing that when Loki mascuraded as Odin for four years, he sent of Lady Sif on a quest in one of the nine realms, which he knew would take a while to complete. Therefore, it would seem like a more auithentic Odin who Loki is playing, with somewhat sending Asgardian help in the realms, while also keeping away the big threats to someone finding out who is really is away from Asgard. Similar to how Loki did exile Heimdall as Odin in Thor Ragnarok.
But then the events of Thor Ragnarok happened and Lady Sif would have been away on this quest. It also has been confirmed in an interview with the Huff Post, the Russo brothers, that Lady Sif died in the snap, as she is not in Endgame.
But Marvel Studios' last interaction with Lady Sif was with Thor the Dark World, and it does seem like the studio does want to bring her back. Although the character was on Agents of SHIELD, a show made by Marvel Television, if Lady Sif does get a Disney Plus show, it will be made by Marvel Studios, and there will be a larger budget with a six to eight episode series.
The project is only in early stages in development, so it may not happen, but I do hope it does. There are talks of Lady Sif appearing in the Loki tv series of the Disney Plus service, so that seems like the next time we will see her in the MCU.
In terms of the show, if it does happen, it would either be a prequel show, explaining how Lady Sif became the Asgardian warrior that she is today. If that is the case, I assume that maybe the Warriors Three could show up. Or it may be a series following Lady Sif going on a mission in the nine realms. That would be interesting, and would explore the character more.
Anyway, I am excited by the idea of a Lady Sif tv series, it is a great way to explore the character and more of the Asgardian warriors, and Jamie Alexander will be amazing holding her own show.
