ANT-MAN AND THE WASP "UNLEASHED" TV SPOT BREAKDOWN

Hey everyone, we are back with some brand new footage from Ant-Man and the Wasp, which, with after Infinity War is released, raises some questions, which tie to the film. So some spoilers ahead for Infinity War, let's break down this footage.

The first shot of the trailer has a voice over of Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) saying "We unleashed something powerful.", referring to the main villain of the film, Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen). This shot above of Hope and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), who are looking a little surprised. I am assuming this is when the two discover that Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) is still alive, which is one of the main plots of the film, which has not been revealed in the trailer.

This shot seems to be towards the end of the film, where the Ghosts' powers are playing up. In the explosion, there is a hint of blue which seems like something with the fabric of space is playing up due to the Ghosts' power use. Another possible theory is that this is taking place when the Ghost first appears in the film and the large disturbance in her first use of her power creates this blue highlighted explosion. Because this brick building does look a little similar to the one where she is fighting Ant-Man in the other trailers.

These are really awesome, the suits of Ant-Man and the Wasp. I absolutely love how the Ant-Man suit is held in this little contained, shrunk down with some paper clips. This seems convenient for Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) to carry around in his day to day life. The Wasp suit on the right looks awesome. There was a similar shot to the expanding of the suit in the first film with the Ant-Man suit, so it is neat seeing the parallel.

A shot of the Ghost unmasked. We see her a few times in this chamber. There are a few scenarios which could be playing out here. First of all, this could be the Ghost enhancing her powers. Those powers being the phase through matter, like a Ghost. It seems like if that is the case, the Ghost is drawing power from the Quantum Realm to use her powers, which could tie in Janet Van Dyne returning. Another possibility is that the Ghost is preparing to go into the Quantum Realm. I don't know why or how, but the only evidence I have about this is that the coloring of the chamber is orange, similar to that of the Quantum Realm shots we saw in the last trailer.

Scott explains his plan to Hope and Hank.
1. Team up
2a.Track down the Ghost
2b. Stop the Ghost
3. Save the World
I do like how Scott forgets to add in the tracking part of their mission. But this scene seems like it will mostly take place at the beginning of the film, where they don't have their plan figured out, and they haven't bought any other characters along for the ride, as we see later in the other trailers.

The last shot of the footage is of the Wasp flying through the air in the microform. In this shot she seems to be punching something, however, it is possible that Hope goes subatomic in the film to save the day. It would a symbolic way to kill off the character, seeing as though how she would go out like her mother did. However, something else might happen to Hope. In the film, it is possible that we see Hope expand, to go into Giant-Wasp form, like in the comics. That would be cool.

Spoilers for Infinity War here:

From what we have seen, the post-credit scene for Ant-Man and the Wasp could take place in the final minutes of Infinity War, where half the universe turns to dust. With what has been seen from behind the scenes, Ant-Man plays a primary part in Avengers 4, with his help in the original Avengers set images. We have not seen Wasp, so what I am speculating is that the Wasp turns to dust in the post-credit scene. I don't think that's the only character. We could also see Cassie Lang (Abby Ryder Fortson) turn to dust, giving Scott two pivotal reasons to help the Avengers take down Thanos once and for all.

In conclusion, this tv spot for Ant-Man and the Wasp is to hype up the film more, which is just over a month from release, and it does get me excited. With the mysteries surrounding Janet Van Dyne, and the Ghost, and the Infinity War tie-in, I am curious as to where this film goes. What did you think of this footage?
