SPIDERMAN REVIEW ... SO SPOILERS

With Spiderman Homecoming coming out I have decided toe review the past 5 Spiderman films, so starting off with Spiderman, the one that started it all in 2002, directed by Sam Rami.

In the film Spiderman, we focus on Peter Parker (Toby Maguire) a high school student who goes to a science facility on a field trip, Oscorp. After getting bitten by a radioactive spider, Peter goes home to his Aunt May (Rosemary Harris) and Uncle Ben (Cliff Robertson) where he discovers new Spider like powers. Wanting to impress the girl next door, Mary Jane Watson (Kirsten Dunst), Peter enters a wrestling competition to win some money, however, he lets a robbery go by not wanting to help who he finds out is related to the murder of Uncle Ben. Out of guilt, Peter creates a new identity as the Spiderman protecting threatens that mean to cause New York City harm, including the uprising threat of the Green Goblin who not only threatens Spiderman but Peter Parker as well.

What I enjoyed about the first Spiderman film is the tone, the way that it shifts according to the events in the film, even though it deals with the death that shaped the whole franchise, which was perfectly done, it was dark when it needed to be, like at the death of Uncle Ben, and the film has a lighter tone when it needed to be, such as Spider-Man's first fight with the Green Goblin. I really loved the aesthetic of the Spiderman scenes in the film, it feels very much like a comic which really made this film a success.

My favorite scene in the film was, well, there were a lot,  Spiderman saving Mary Jane from the Green Goblin for the first time, the death of Uncle Ben, and the final battle between Spiderman and Green Goblin which was dirty and gritty in the right way, because it showed that in comparison with the rest of the film, this was Peter's first boss fight which he struggled with. I also liked all the J.J. Jameson scenes.

The cast of the film was astonishing, we had Toby Maguire as Peter Parker/Spiderman who was great, really felt like a Peter from the comics, but a little older.  Kirsten Dunst, I found okay in the film, some people disliked her in the film, but she did a reasonable performance. James Franco in the film was great, I really enjoyed the Harry Osborne character in the film, and his arc in the trilogy is great. William Dafoe was a great villain as the Green Goblin, gleaming around and all.
But the rest of the cast in the film was great, Rosemary Harris (Aunt May), Cliff Robertson (Uncle Ben), and of course J. K. Simmons (J.J.Jameson).

Overall Spiderman was a great film that shaped all the superhero films that have come after, one of my favorite films of all time. so I will give it an 8.8 out of 10. I would like to know your gouts on Spiderman, so comment below your thoughts on the film down below. As always thanks for reading, take care.
