SPIDERMAN 3 REVIEW ... SO SPOILERS

Spiderman 3, the abomination that was Spiderman 3, the 2007 film directed by Sam Rami, the last film in the Toby Maguire Spiderman trilogy, I said I was going to review all the Spiderman films before Homecoming, so I got to do what I said I was going to do.

The film centers around Peter Parker/ Spiderman has everything he has ever wanted with being Spiderman and being with Mary Jane Watson. However, the real man who killed Uncle Ben is still at large, the Sandman. Peter must face off this villain with struggling with his own demons in terms of the Venom who teams up with Sandman to take down Peter who needs the help of the man who hates him the most, Harry Osborne.

So the problem with Spiderman 3 is that is was too crammed with so much stuff, there is the plot with Venom, there is the plot with Sandman, Gwen Stacy, Harry Osborne, emo Peter, there was way too much in the film which all these elements collided with each other. Sam Rami, the director didn't want to do Venom, but Sony told him he had to, which is a real pain because Spiderman 3 could have been a perfect bookend to the trilogy, or a perfect prelude to a Spiderman 4.

There were some neat scenes in the film, such as the Sandman vs Spiderman scene, which I do have to say, the CG in the film is great, I can appreciate that. The Sandman scenes were enjoyable, they just didn't have to change the continuity of the series with Sandman being the real murderer of Unclue Ben, that was unnecessary, and it could have been changed sill maintaining Sandman to be a great villain. I also did like the Black Symbiote suit that Peter wore, it looked so awesome.

The cast in the film, they really had no other choice but to deliver the material they were given, Toby Maguire was okay, apart from emo Peter, Kirsten Dunst was fine, I enjoyed James Franco in the film, and the rest of the cast I suppose was good, like Topher Grace (Eddie Brock/Venom), Thomas Haden Church (Sandman), Bryce Dallas Howard (Gwen Stacy), Willem Dafoe (Norman Osborne), Rosemary Harris (Aunt May), and J.K Simmons (J.J. Jameson).

Overall, Spiderman 3 could have been so much better, but I guess what has been finished has been set in the symbiote. I will give this film a 6 out of 10. I would really like to hear your thoughts on the film down in the comments below. As always thanks for reading, take care.
