AVENGERS INFINITY WAR SYNOPSIS

There has been a synopsis for Avengers Infinity War released, so let's break it down. The synopsis reads

"As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment — the fate of the Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain."

So the synopsis isn't the final one, it will definitely change over the coming months but this is a good base to starts off. From here we can say that Infinity War is going to focus on Thanos collecting the Infinity Stone like he does in Thanos Quest. The Avengers part of the tile will come in with them trying to protect the stones in their possession, like Vision with the mind stone, Doctor Strange with the time stone, Thor with the space stone, and what ever soul stone theories are out there.

In the synopsis, "Avengers and their allies..." will refer to SHIELD and the Guardians of the Galaxy, probably not the Agents of SHIELD and the Defenders, I would say we are a little off getting a tv and film crossover, but I would expect some references for them, more for Agents of SHIELD with characters like Nick Fury and Maria Hill referencing them. But with the ending of Agents of SHIELD season 4, it seems like there could possibly be a tie into Infinity War.
