CAPTAIN MARVEL POST CREDIT SCENE BREAKDOWN

With Captain Marvel coming out, we got two post-credit scenes which tease and teased the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Spoilers ahead for the post-credit scenes of Captain Marvel, which there are two of. So let's breakdown the two post credit scenes, and all that they hold.

In the mid-credit scene, we see the pager Nick Fury had in the Avengers Facility. Meanwhile, and unshaven Steve Rogers looks at a hologram of a counter of everyone who went missing as a result of the snap. The total missing human population on Earth is 3.2 billion and counting. There are also individual country counters around a map of the world, counting the millions of missing individuals. Steve says that "This is a nightmare"  which blonde hair Black Widow responds "I've had better nightmares."
The pager turns off, and Rhode tells Steve and Natasha. Steve asks Banner if he can turn it back on, and he says that he doesn't even know who is receiving the signal. Black Widow comes to the conclusion that Fury wanted to contact someone before he dusted away, so they must be important. Black Widow turns around and in a new suit stands Captain Marvel who says "Where is Fury?"

It isn't too clear whether this itself is directly taken from Endgame, or if it was filmed just to be a post credit scene. In the scene, I am guessing that a week top has passed since Thanos snapped his fingers and half of all sentient life ceased to exist. The reason I am saying a week is that it gives not a whole lot of time for Steve to think about shaving, nor has Natasha's hair grown out. Also, 3.2 billion seems somewhat of a reasonable figure for the entire remaining half of the population to count up in a week.
Also, going by rough rules of the snap, there is potentially 300 million people still highly likely unaccounted for. For comparison, that is the population of the United States... and also Club Penguin before that was snapped away.

With the Avengers having of picked up Fury's pager, it seems like they went to every one of their allies on Earth's last positions at the time of the snap to track them down, that's how they most likely got the pager. In the Endgame trailer, we also see them accounting for Scott Lang (who is just subatomic), Peter Parker, and Shuri who they all believe are missing and couldn't find them at their last known location, and therefore they are presumably snapped. I am guessing that the Earth-based Avengers will assume that Tony is also snapped away, seeing as though he went missing from their perspective in Infinity War.
This in the film, will lead into the Avengers, more specifically, Black Widow tracking down Clint Barton to find him and re-recruit him for a final stand against Thanos.

If you wanted to, you could make up the story that the Avengers knew of all the television characters, and would have recruited them in Endgame, however, they were snapped away... like all of the Netflix shows.

Captain Marvel herself in this scene has been missing for 23 years. In this time, it is explained that she has been helping the Skrulls move away to a safe haven from the Kree, and stopping the Kree-Skrull war. Her powers and changed DNA also give her de-aging abilities, which is why she looks like she has only aged a rough day. The new suit she has in the scene has some gold shoulder padding, and the star in the middle is a little more indented on her suit.

In Endgame, Captain Marvel will play somewhat of a pivotal role in the film, however, I will have a separate post on that later, so subscribe for that.

The post credit scene takes place back in 1995 where Goose throws up the Tesseract on Nick Fury's desk.

The scene was played more for laughs, however, it did tie in with the timeline of the MCU.

So a quick rundown of the Tesseract, AKA the Space Stone. When the old universe collapsed, and the new one started, there were six ingots, the power, reality, soul, mind, time, and of course, the space stone. The Asgardians managed to get a hold of the Space Stone, however, when they came down to Earth once, they left it behind. During WWII, Red Skull and Hydra get a hold of the Tesseract, which in a fight with Captain America, teleports Red Skull to Vormir, and the Tesseract falls to the bottom of the ocean. Howard Stark finds the Tesseract, and places in SHIELD surveillance after studying it.
Doctor Mar-Vell manages to get access to the Tesseract, and in the 1980s, takes it to her space lab, to get the Skrulls home. The events of the film happen where Goose swallows the Tesseract to get past the Kree. And then cue the post credit scene.

After this scene, the Tesseract goes back to SHIELD custody, Dr. Selvig studies it, and Loki hopes through it, steals it, brings an army to Earth. Avengers Assemble! The Tesseract is taken back to Asgard, Loki steals it, and then Thanos steals it, along with the other six stones to Wakanda, where he snaps his fingers, and half of all life ceases to exist.

The Tesseract has been in some interesting places before it made its way into Thanos' gauntlet.

In conclusion, that is the breakdown of the Captain Marvel mid and post-credit scenes, where we get a wider look in Endgame, which was awesome to see, and the absolute devastation that Earth alone is in. 3.2 Billion- still can't get the thought of that insanity out of my head. I am excited to see what else is to come from Captain Marvel in the near future, especially seeing her alongside the Avengers in Endgame.
