ARROW ENDING AFTER SEASON 8

The Green Arrow, Stephen Amell himself has confirmed that Arrow season eight will be the final season of the show. So with that heavy statement, let's talk about what is going on, and what will happen in and out of the Arrowverse.

Earlier this year, we knew that all of the DCTV shows on the CW were renewed for a new season, and we also knew that one of the shows were going to have their final season. I had the guess that it was either going to be Legends of Tomorrow or Arrow. But now we have found out that Arrow will say its goodbye in season eight.

Season eight of Arrow is going to be significantly shorter than anyone other DCTV season, rounding out at ten episodes for the season. This means that all the final ten episodes of Arrow will air this year, during the fall time.

There are a few reasons why this is happening. Not in terms of the show ending, I feel like it has run one long and awesome course, however, the ten-episode season concluding this year. That is because of the Crisis on Infinite Earth's crossover which is happening later this year. In the Elseworld's crossover, Oliver Queen made a deal with the Monitor to stop the disruption of reality on Earth-One, which was done in order to prepare Earth-One for the Anti-Monitor colliding all of the Earth's together in Crisis on Infinite Earth's.

This means that whatever happens to stop Crisis on Infinite Earth's, it will involve Oliver, and him potentially dying. And if he dies, you can't really have Arrow, with the Arrow himself. I am assuming that the Arrow part of the crossover will be the big finale, and that episode in Arrow's run will either be the ninth or tenth episode. I am guessing that with this finally we will see a resolution to the rebirth of heroes in Star City, such as Emiko Queen taking on a bigger role as the Green Arrow, Diggle, Wilddog, Black Canary, Black Siren, and other vigilantes being able to operate as vigilantes in Star City once more, honoring Oliver Queen.

Depending on what characters are dying in the final season, and what actors want to leave, we could see remaining characters, like potentially Wilddog and Black Canary, or even Emiko move to other shows such as Legends of Tomorrow.

Overall, it is kind of sad to say that Arrow is finishing this year, with season eight. The ride has had its up's and downs, but it has been an enjoyable show for the most part. The cast did an amazing job in the show over the past seven years, and Stephen Amell has defined the character of the Green Arrow, for me and I assume millions of others.
So, the rest of season seven, and then ten more episodes. That's 19 episodes total.
