ARROW "SHIFTING ALLEGIANCES" REVIEW

Season 6 Episode 20:

A new episode of Arrow, directed by Alexander La Roche, is out, and this episode shows where the allegiances of the team slide after Oliver decides to go solo. There was some interesting stuff in the episode, so spoilers ahead, let's recap.

As the new mayor, Quentin gets into his office as he is approached by Laurel who reveals that she is working with Diaz and that he wants some property. Quentin is angry as his daughter's doppelganger, as he learns from her the threat that Diaz is. With Rene out of the hospital, the new recruits team go out to stop a drug operation as they are saved by Diggle and Argus when Rene freezes. Diggle tells the new recruits that he was fired from Team Arrow, and he says that they need to stop Diaz. Quentin tells the new recruits team about the property Diaz is buying so they can stop him, as the team learns that Diaz is also now apart of the quadrant. Rene sits out on the operation, so Black Canary, Mr. Teriffic, Diggle, and some Argus soldiers destroy Diaz's arms imports.

Meanwhile, Oliver pays a visit to Anatoly as he tells him that she cleared his debts in Russia, so he can return home. Anatoly says that he wants to stay with Diaz, and Oliver tells him that Diaz is a dishonorable man. Oliver is captured and taken to Diaz where the two exchange words and make a deal for each other to leave the city if they win a fight. Oliver starts to win the fight, but then Diaz pulls out a knife and stabs Oliver. Oliver is taken away by the police as he is arrested for being the Green Arrow.

Overall this episode of Arrow was averagely exciting. There was not a whole lot going on as this was more of a setup episode. I did enjoy all the other team Arrow members working together, without Oliver. It is starting to develop the team coming together a little more, which I enjoyed. Rene finally came out of the hospital a second time which was great. I am not too sure how long the character will sit on the bench, but before the season finale, he should be on the field. Quentin's plot was exciting because it started to show how alone he is in the office, as everyone around him, including his daughter, is working with Diaz. The episode tried to explain it, but Laurel really could stop Diaz if she wanted to.

The cast of the episode was great, starring in the episode we had Stephen Amell (Oliver Queen/ Green Arrow), David Nykl (Anatoly Knyazev), Paul Blackthorne (Quentin Lance), David Ramsey (John Diggle/ Spartan), Rick Gonzalez (Rene Ramirez/ Wilddog), Eliza Faria (Zoe Ramirez), Juliana Harkavy (Dinah Drake/ Black Canary), Echo Kellum (Curtis Holt/ Mr. Teriffic), Emilly Bett Rickards (Felicity Smoak), Jack Moore (William Queen), Kathleen Gati (Raisa), Katie Cassidy (Laurel Lance/ Black Siren), Kirk Acevedo (Ricardo Diaz).

In conclusion, this episode of Arrow was average, not a whole lot happened, however, it was plotting stuff for the final episodes of the season, which was great to see. I will give this episode a 7.5 out of 10. I would like to hear your thoughts on the episode down in the comments below. You can click on the left for more DCTV, and on the right for Infinity War. As always thanks for reading, take care.
