THE FLASH "WHEN HARRY MET HARRY" REVIEW

Season 4 Episode 6:

Hey, everyone, we are back with a brand new episode of the Flash and we get introduced to a new wave of characters in the episode,  with the storyline of the Council of Harrison Wells, and a storyline tied with the Elongated Man, and also some set up for the Thinker. So spoilers ahead let's recap.

The episode opens up with Ralph and Barry at Jitters, where Barry buys them some coffee. Outside the coffee shop, Barry and Ralph get held up by a robber. Ralph and Barry take a break as Ralph figures out what position he should use to take down the robber. The robber shoots  Ralph but the bullet rebounds and hits the robber in the ass.

At the Thinker's lab, the Mechanic tells DeVoe that team Flash has a high chance of discovering his identity.

At STAR Labs, the team is trying to track down DeVoe, from all the clues Barry has gotten from the past year. Harry tells the team that he will get some of his friends to Barry then asks Ralph if he can remember anyone that was on the bus when he was. Iris decides that they should take Ralph to a hypnosis to see if he will remember. At the hypnotist, Ralph is sent into the memory he had on the bus where he sees a crying man on the bus (the Meta from last week), and then he sees someone with an image of a Bison on the back of their shirt.
We then see a woman enter a building where she kills a man mysteriously.

The next day on the crime scene, Barry and Joe examine the area and find that the man who was murdered was murdered by an animal. The two hear a noise from a statue. The two see a statue of a Jaguar. Barry takes a sample from the tooth of the statue and finds blood.

At STAR Labs, Harry introduces his friends, who are from across the multiverse. Using a hologram, Harry summons a German version of himself in the lab. Cisco asks Harry his he became friends with himself through the multiverse and created a "Council of Harry's", which Harry tells Cisco he did. Harry summons in two more Harry's, Playboy Harry, and Madmax Harry.

Meanwhile, the team discovers that the man that was murdered held a collection of Native Indian artifacts. Iris points out a Bison totem, which may be related to a bus meta as Ralph pointed out a Bison in his vision. The team discovers that the thief who is not most likely a meta has one of thee parts of the totem. The team finds a location on one of the others parts, so Barry and Ralph suit up. Cisco gives Ralph a suit he quickly made which can expand with Ralph.

The Flash and the Elongated Man are in action and confront the thief, who is stealing a part of the totem. The thief is a Meta-Human who calls herself the Black Bison who brings an armored knight to life, which takes down Ralph. Barry takes down the sentient knight, while Black Bison flees the scene with a piece of a Bison necklace.

Back at STAR Labs, Ralph blames Barry for Black Bisson getting away, but Barry tells Ralph that as a hero their main priority is saving the people, even if that means letting the villain go. The team also finds the identity of the Black Bisson as "Mina Chaytan", who is out to collect Sioux artifacts to return to the Sioux people. The team also concludes that Mina has the Meta ability to bring to life inanimate objects which resemble living things. Meanwhile, Cisco walks in on Harry and his council of Harry's having an argument on how to start their search for DeVoe.

The team manages to find Mina and robbing a transport truck which contains the second piece of the neckless she is going after. She brings to life a caveman statue to attack the guards of the van. Barry and Ralph show up at the scene. Barry fights the sentient caveman while Ralph tries to stop Mina who is in a car getting away. In the battle, some powerlines come loose and are going wild on the street. Barry tells Ralph to save the people, but Ralph ignores Barry and he crashes Mina's car. However, in not saving the people, a kid gets hurt.

At the Central City hospital, Ralph feels guilty for letting a kid get injured. At STAR Labs, Cisco finds out that Harry disbanded the Council of Harry's, as they could not agree on anything. Cisco tells Harry that he needs to place them back together as they are good people, the other Harry's did not have picked up the call, but they did. Harry calls the other Harry's with the hologram and he apologizes and they all go around agreeing on specific things. The Harry's then start to create plans to track down Earth-1 DeVoe.

At Ralph's office, Barry visits Ralph who asks Barry how he can deal with the guilt. Barry tells him that he lets go of the guilt by trying to save people and having a team to rely on. Barry tells Ralph that if he is feeling guilty about anything as being Elongated Man, he can talk to him.

At the police station, Mina is behind bars. Meanwhile, at the police station, a new armor gar is being shown off. Mina manages to control the new armor and she gets broken out of the cell and escapes the police station.

Back at STAR Labs, the team discovers that Mina escaped the police station and she will be going after the last part of the Bison totem which is at the Central City museum. Barry and Ralph suit up and head to the museum to stop Mina. At the museum, Mina steals the necklace and Ralph and Barry confront her. Mina then brings a T-rex dinosaur to life and Barry and Ralph trying fighting it. Ralph saves the security guard at the museum while Barry manages to stop Mina from stealing the museum, which stops the Dinosaur from attacking, and Ralph and Barry saved the day.

The next day at STAR Labs, Ralph tells Barry that he took the totem Mina was going to steal and he gave it to a Sioux community. Barry is proud of Ralph for the choice he made. Ralph then goes to the hospital where he visits the kid, he then makes the kid cheer up by creating some balloon animals with his arm.

Meanwhile back at STAR Labs, Harry measured to track down the identity of DeVoe to Clifford DeVoe. Barry tells the team that they have to go get DeVoe, this is their chance the finally capture the bad guy, after Reverse Flash, after Zoom, and Savitar, this may finally be their win. Back at the Thinker's lab, he learns that team Flash is coming after him. Harry is outside Devoe's house with a gun, Cisco and Caitlin are ready to vibe into action and Barry and Joe go to the DeVoe house where they are greeted by the Mechanic, the two ask to speak with Clifford, who comes out looking like a regular dude in a wheelchair.

Overall, this episode was a fun episode in the season. The plot with Barry and Ralph was great as we saw the introduction of Black Bisson. I did like the dynamic Barry and Ralph had in the episode, how Barry is going to help Ralph get over his emotional barriers to being a hero. The suit, that Ralph had was the first prototype of the suit, obviously, it will evolve throughout the season, and it will become more comic book accurate with the purple colors. But the blue rag was hilarious to see in the episode.

To speculate on that ending, the Clifford we saw in the wheelchair was most likely a hologram that was built by Devoe. Because how can DeVoe go from a dried up potato to a regular looking guy in a matter of minutes. There is some sort of mind trickery going on. But I do believe that Clifford is paralyzed in his legs, because he is in the wheelchair as a regular man, and basically a floating wheelchair when the Thinker. But it would be interesting to note that the speed force storm at the end of last season could have cause DeVoe to lose control of his legs.

The side plot of the episode with Harry and the Council of Harry's was fun to see for a bit. It was interesting to see the different Harrison Wells, they were all quite goofy in terms of their characteristics, and did get a bit cringey at sometimes. But I did wish we saw Harry the Grey in the episode more; that would have been great. Tom Cavanagh did do a great job of portraying all the  Harry's and it would be great to see more Harry's in the show.

The cast of the episode was great, we had Grant Gustin (Barry Allen/The Flash), Candice Patton (Iris West), Jesse L. Martin (Joe West), Carlos Valdes (Cisco Ramone), Danielle Panabaker (Caitlin Snow), Hartley Sawyer (Ralph Dibny), Chelsea Kurtz (Mina Chayton/Black Bison) and Kim Engelbrecht(The Mechanic), Neil Sandilands (Clifford DeVoe/the Thinker).

In conclusion, this episode of the Flash was enjoyable, goofy at times, but overall a good time. There were some great parts of the episode such as the Ralph storyline on being a hero, and the humorous Harry storyline, I am also interested to see where the villain of the season, the Thinker goes next. I will give this episode of the Flash an 8 out of 10. Please comment below your thoughts on the episode. As always thanks for reading, take care.
