Season 5 Episode 10:

Hey, everyone, we are back with a brand new episode of Agents of SHIELD and this episode we explore the powers of Flint and how he will attempt to get the agents back home. Spoilers ahead from the episode as we will recap the episode then review.

Coming into the lighthouse, Coulson, Daisy, May, Deke, Simmons, and Fitz go out to find Mack, Yoyo, and Flint, while Enich stays on the Zipper making repeats to the Monolith holder. Coulson and the others meet with Tess who they tell to pilot a ship. Coulson, May, and Daisy father Kasius' Inhumans and board them in Tess' ship. Meanwhile, Yoyo goes to find more Inhumans. Fitz and Summins met with Mack and Yoyo, where Simmons tries to teach Flint how to use his powers on the Monolith.

After finding Sinara dead, Kasius tries to bring her back to life. He then goes to speed with his seeer about why is going to happen next. Yoyo walks into a room, where she finds herself. A war-torn lost both arms version of herself. Old Yoyo tells Yoyo that they are stuck in a loop, whatever they do, they will have the same fate. Old Yoyo tells her younger self that she has drained of her Inhuman blood, and been brought back to life, and she been forced to give information to Kasius, however, she is giving him as little as possible. Old Yoyo gives herself some advice and tells her that she has to watch out for Coulson. Daisy tells May and Coulson that she wants to stay behind so she does not break the Earth apart. Coulson tells her that she may not be the cause. Coulson then shoots Daisy with a freezer gun, knocking her out cold as he carries her.

In a space suit, Flint gathers some rocks and throws it on the top floor of the lighthouse where the executives are. Deke goes to the Zipper where he saves Enoch from some Kree and has to use Enoch's body battery to power the device to enable the Monolith. In the top floor, Flint attempts to concentrate his powers on rebuilding the Monolith, while Simmons free's her fellow servant friends. Meanwhile, Mack hears a scream from Yoyo, he sees old Yoyo being killed by Kasius, who drinks a black liquid and he gains super strength. In a fight, Mack is beaten to the ground as he loses his shotgun. Simmons comes in and puts the worker chip inside Kasius' ear, giving him immense pain. Present day Yoyo comes in hugs Mack. Simmons, Yoyo, and Mack run towards the others with Flint having built the Monolith. Enoch losses his battery power and Deke powers the Monolith as it splashes the team surrounding it.

The episode ends with Flint and Tess in a spaceship not knowing who from the SHIELD team got back to the past. Tess gives Flint a small model of Earth which was Virgil's, as Tess tells Flint that he has a new puzzle to build.

Overall, this episode of Agents of SHIELD was absolutely crazy. There was a lot that went down, however, it all boiled down to a single plot. But in the episode, we saw an old Yoyo. It appears that in her timeline, the Agents went back to 2017, Dasiy quakes the Earth apart, and the surviving SHIELD agents live into the dystopian future, where Yoyo is drained for her blood and is a seeer for Kasius. So it is a dark timeline for that Yoyo, but we will hopefully see a more positive outcome for the Agents. Enoch died in the episode. That was a kind of sad death, not knowing how much his 'life' contributed to the mission. But the episode as a whole was great. We saw the ties for everything this season start to come tie-in. The climax of the episode was great, we had a ticking time bomb and a mystery of who went back to 2017.

Natalia Cordova-Buckley was amazing in this episode as Yoyo, more specifically, old Yoyo. It was insane seeing her pull off a character with so much depth and seeing the contrast between her two performances in the episode of Old and present-day Yoyo. It made for some great screen time, and an enjoyable performance to say the least. The cast of the episode is as always great, starring in the episode was Clark Gregg (Phil Coulson), Chloe Bennet (Daisy/ Quake), Ming Na Wen (Melinda May), Jeff Ward (Deke), Joel Stoffer (Enoch), Iain De Caestecker (Leo Fitz), Elizabeth Henstridge (Jemma Simmons), Coy Stewart (Flint), Henry Simmons (Alphonso Mack), Eve Harlow (Tess), and Dominic Rains (Kasius).

In conclusion, this episode of Agents of SHIELD was very suspenseful, and I have to say, the most gruesome from the show. The director, Erik Laneuville, did an amazing job in bringing to life a great story with some great visual techniques. I will give this episode a 9 out of 10.
