THE AMAZING SPIDERMAN REVIEW ... SO SPOILERS

So with Spiderman Homecoming coming out this week I decided to review the past Spiderman films, I have done the Sam Rami trilogy, so now the two Amazing Spiderman films, starting off with, well the first one, The Amazing Spiderman (2012) directed by Marc Webb.

The Amazing Spiderman focuses on Peter Parker who gets bitten by a radioactive Spiderman at a science facility, Oscorp. After the death of his Uncle Ben, Peter feels guilty and becomes the masked vigilante known as the Spiderman, juggling his school life, his love life with Gwen Stacy, and trying to solve his parents' disappearance. That is all threatened when the villainous Lizard comes into New York City.

So I see he criticism towards this film as it feels like a repeat of the original Spiderman from 2002, but I personally enjoy The amazing Spiderman which has some really great aspects, such as the tone the film took which was drastically different compared to the Rami films, which was neat to see.

One of my favorite scenes in the film was the library scene with Spiderman vs the Lizard, where we had the Stan Lee cameo. It was one of my personal favorite Spiderman scenes be uses it brings together action and humor and still fits into the core tone of the film.

The cast in the film was, well, Amazing. Andrew Garfield was spectacular as Peter Parker/Spiderman, he bought the character to a really interesting direction, which is thanks to the director, but Garfield did bring a good performance to add to the darker, intense, almost depressed Peter Parker. I really hope he comes back into a Spiderverse movie in the future.

Emma Stone was a great addition to the film as Gwen Stacy, she played the part amazingly and I really loved her in the film. I also want her to come back as Spider Gwen. that would be neat, be used there is no Gwen Stacy in the MCU yet. The rest of the cast in the film, Rhys Ifans was an intresting villain, Sally Field (Aunt May), and Martin Sheen (Uncle Ben) were great in the film.

Overall, the Amaizng Spiderman was a neat new interesting way to take Spiderman, the cast was great in the film, but it retreaded the origin story of Spiderman, which is actually a part of the contract. I will give the film a 7 out of 10. I would like to hear your thoughts on the film down in the comments below. As always thanks for reading, and happy 4th of July, and if your not in the US, have a great day,  take care.
