SPIDERMAN HOMECOMING IRON MAN DISCUSSION

Spiderman Homecoming brought us the return of Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man since we last saw him in Civil War. But let's discuss how the character developed throughout the film and his future in the MCU.

When Homecoming picks up we see Tony dropping Peter off to Queens where he tells Peter to stay close to the ground and don't do anything stupid, like has done before or something so stupid he wouldn't do. I really felt Tony saw himself in Peter where he didn't want Peter to repeat the mistakes that he made.

With the Iron Man suits in the film, we only saw the mark 47 which is a look alike to the mark 46 suit from Civil War but has a silver lower half. There were no new special abilities in the suit, but we Tony got some new tech, he can control all the suits he has built, we saw him use the Mark 47 remotely as well as using features in the Spiderman suit like the heater.

My favorite scene of Tony Stark in the film was the ending scene, Tony offering Peter membership in the Avengers but obviously, Peter declines. I enjoyed seeing how Tony's view of Peter remained and how he was watching over the kid.
However, from that end scene, it seems like Tony and Peper are getting engaged as they needed something for the press.

Going forward into the MCU, Tony was moving all assets to the upstate Avengers facility, so he is taking lead into assembling the Avengers once again to fight Thanos, which Tony does not know about, however since the Age of Ultron vision he got from Scarlet Witch of all the Avengers dead, Tony has been on edge preparing for the threat.

Overall, Robert Downey Jr is great as Iron Man who shined in Spiderman Homecoming but didn't overshadow Spiderman himself. I would like to hear your thoughts on Iron Man in Homecoming, so comment below. As always thanks for reading, take care.
