I dropped weekly viewing of nearly all of the Arrowverse series (except the Flash) in the fall of 2018 because I was not the most satisfied with the ending of last season. But, I really wish I did not drop Legends of Tomorrow season four, because it is amazing. Legends of Tomorrow is arguably the only Arrowverse series that manages to maintain a consistent tone, an interesting and compelling plot, with lovable characters throughout a single season, which is why it has lasted as long as it has. I want to get into all the reasons why season four of Legends of Tomorrow worked, and why it deserves more credit. Plot The way that the first part of the season was constructed is that it took an episodic approach into constructing conflict, with a villain from the underworld each week being spit out into a part of the timeline where they do not belong, and it is up to the Legends to stop them. However, moving into the last few episodes of the season, everything came togethe...
Well, I have not posted anything on here in the past year, except for this, my year in review of this year. This year had the theme of 'getting back to normal' after the lockdown phase of the pandemic. And, yes it is nice to the world healing. But for the step taken forward, I feel as though the world has taken two steps backwards. Through lockdowns I felt like humanity would launch itself into becoming a more robust, empathetic society, but this year kind of disproved that. I could go on about how we are taking no significant steps towards the climate crisis, or the ever expanding wealth gap, or any other issue that plagued us in the before times. But instead I want to point out that in 'going back to normal' we are letting the same narratives in the news of 'humans vs. humans' play out, and it is in all honesty upsetting to see. I wish that from lockdowns that we would see more empathy being extended in all areas of this world. I believe that if this were th...
Season 3 Episode 6: Rick and Morty are back for a new episode, and this week we have a new version of Rick and Morty, toxic Rick, and toxic Morty. So spoilers ahead for the episode, let's recap the episode. Rick pulls Morty out of school after he discovers that Jessica is single. The two go on a mission retrieving a crystal on a Death Star trench run. After almost being killed on their adventure, Rick decides that he and Morty need to go to a spa and relax. At the spa, Rick and Morty go into a sauna which takes out what the individual considers "toxic" about themselves. Coming out of the sauna is a brand new trusting Rick and a confident Morty. However, trapped inside the sauna is a toxic version of Rick and a toxic Morty, in a toxic waste land, where Rick is acting like a god, creating toxic electricity, and Morty is super insecure. Back at home, Morty is doing well in school, however, Rick discovers that they left their toxic parts behind, as he get...
Season 3 Episode 17: Hey everyone, we are back with a brand new episode of Supergirl, directed by Jesse Warn. We see some awesome stuff happen in this episode, with the World Killers, the Legion of Superheroes, and also Alex gets a suit upgrade. So spoilers ahead, let's recap. With all three World Killers assembled, they create an eclipse, which Kara discovers she can travel to the world of the world killers, the haunted forest. Using Brainiac's Legion technology, Kara, Alex, and Lena go into the World Killer dream forest where they find Sam and Julia. Waking Sam up in the real world, Sam sends out a signal to Supergirl and the others, as she, Alex, Martian Manhunter, and the Legion assemble to fight the World Killers, where Pestilence and Purity are killed, however, Reign gets away. This episode was an interesting episode. I enjoyed how we explored the world where the host of the World Killers go when the World Killers take over. It was interesting seeing as though ho...
One of the most underutilized characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe was Pietro Maximoff, A.K.A Quicksilver, played by Aaron Taylor Johnson, who both debuted and died in Avengers Age of Ultron (2015). With Avengers Endgame approaching, and the film promising to wrap up the past 22 films, it is possible that we see Quicksilver return in Endgame, and I have a theory as to how that may happen. The main reason that Quicksilver was killed off in the MCU was that writing for speedsters is simply just too hard. Especially if the speedster is not counted in their powers. If Quicksilver lived in Age of Ultron, we most likely would have seen him in Captain America Civil War, and Avengers Infinity War. In Civil War, for example, Quicksilver would be too overpowered for team Iron Man. If Quicksilver sided with Captain America in the airport battle, he could have rushed every member to the Quinjet, and Zemo would have been captured. Tony wouldn't have stood a chance. Therefore no ...
